Putting it all Together

Business uniforming is hard. Everyone has their own opinions and likes and the person or department in charge of uniforming always ends up feeling like they are in a no win situation.

It is true that for all your employees one brand, style, or color rarely works well for everybody. But that’s okay. This guide gives you some ideas how you can work your uniform around a color palette, how to achieve a certain “look” that represents your brand, and how accessories such as hats or bags (duffle bags, backpacks, or totes) can give your group a uniform look at events, meetings, and corporate outings.

The above guide only scratches the surface on what is out there for you. Here is our quick check list for getting your business uniforming on.

Research first! Love it or hate it social media like Instagram and Twitter can be your best friends during your research phase. Check out what other companies in your field are doing. Check out other companies not related to your field at all and see if there is some takeaway you can apply to your company. It costs nothing to look but may save you time and money down the line as your uniform vision takes shape.

Baby steps! Biggest thing to remember as you uniform your gang is baby steps. Outfitting a group can get pricey. Some companies have budgets that will allow them to outfit all at once. Most don’t however, so start small. Maybe the best way for your company is by department, by upcoming events, or by starting with your sales team that is face to face with your customers. There is no wrong place to start.

Go for it! When it all becomes to overwhelming, I always tell our customers to start with something easy, like hats. One size fits all, they are not a big investment and they are the number one best use of your advertising money. Everyone will see them and then everyone will want one.

We always have catalogs in the shop.  If your research stalls, stop in and we can help get you on your way again. Oh and the catalogs are FREE!

Sparkles and Velvet

Pennant is helping you shine with these new sparkle and velvet trimmed hoodies. The hoodies are soft lightweight heather jersey with sewn on sparkles and velvet stripes on the raglan sleeves.

The sparkles are offered in white and black while the velvet comes in a variety of standard team colors.

For the price point these hoodies take the “sweatshirt” look up a notch and would work well for fund raising, spirit wear, health/fitness and corporate events with a sporty vintage theme.

Gildan Hammer

Hanes has long been know for its heavy weight 6 oz Beefy-T. If you liked 100% cotton at the heaviest weight, you were a fan of this for life. Gildan is now introducing their version of the Beefy-T called the Hammer.

I am going to assume you at least glanced at the text in the photo above so I won’t repeat. Bottom line is the tee shirt is soft, comes in a long sleeve and with a pocket, and has 30 colors to choose from.

Current trends are toward a lighter weight tee but if you are a die hard fan of the heavy weight tee you should  stop by and check out The Hammer. Gildan was kind enough to send us a sample. By the way did I mention it was SOFT?

Ash City introduces the Tech-Shell Vest

Ash City has come out with a new Tech-Shell vest as part of their CORE 365 line.

This could be the best new thing to up your golf game or up your golf game giveaways at your next event.

The style comes in both men’s and ladies’ cut with classic colors to compliment your brand. The ladies’ style has a front and back princess seam for a flattering fit.

Both styles offer water resistance and windsmart technology. ( I have no clue what windsmart technology is but suffice it to say it will block the wind on those breezy spring days on the golf course…or where every you may find yourself on those breezy spring days.) They also sport a chin rash guard and a reflective toggle on the zipper.

If you are not a vest person but like the concept click here for the companion jacket.

The Belmont Travel Tumbler

We (really just me as Dale is down South at the moment) are quite impressed with the Belmont 20oz Vacuum Insulated Stainless Steel Travel Tumbler. It is one of those items that looks good, works well, and makes for  brand visibility at a great price point. More importantly it is a gift that folks will really use. The thing I liked best about it was the lid. The lid had a tight fit and didn’t leave me feeling like one accidentally tip over and it would come flying off. I also liked the drink tab you slide open (or closed). It requires a little bit of pressure but it made me feel, again, it won’t coming flying open on you when you are not ready for it. My current travel mug sometimes leaves me wary that my car interior will be wearing my tea if I take a corner too sharply. Not that I do but well…you know how that goes….

Features include:

  • 18/8 Stainless steel construction
  • Double wall insulated
  • Keeps beverage hot for up to 12 hours or cold for up to 12 hours
  • Tapered bottom fits cup holders
  • Clear plastic push-on lid with sliding drink opening
  • FDA certified
  • Hand wash only

Pictured is a one color logo but if your brand has more that one not to worry. We are currently working on the same item (in red) with a client of ours that has 4 colors in their logo. The proof looks great and we can’t wait to see the tumblers in person. Bonus point: the price  doesn’t go up much for more than one color. Always nice to hear while doing your advertising/promotional budget.

Comfort Colors for 2018

Happy 2018 from Comfort Colors. New pigments, new styles, and a new cuffed jogger that seems to be the “it” trend for the new year.

All of these new items can be found on page 22-23 of the new catalog.  At a nice medium weight of 7oz, the new French Terry crew neck sweatshirt with kangaroo pocket, the scuba neck hoodie, and the cuffed jogger pant will take you from cool spring weather right through Indian Summer.

If your brand reflects a vintage or beachy feel try experimenting with a one pass color or tone on tone color when screen printing. Want to incorporate the new jogger pants into the mix? Add your embroidered logo right below the pocket. Or run a word or tag line up one of the legs. Lots of fun options for you to ruminate on while we wait for spring.
